Blue Lace Agate

Blue Lace Agate is a type of chalcedony that belongs to the Quartz family of minerals. Agate forms in cracks in rocks or hollows formed by gas bubbles in volcanic rocks. All agate is banded and the blue lace is particularly pretty as it forms pale blue and white lace effect bands. Its colour is due to copper and salt.

Blue lace agate is a stone of calmness. It is peaceful and soothing and can help to cool anger. It is a good stone for children or shy, sensitive people as it is very gentle. Because of its gentle nature, some may find it works in a slow, steady manner.

Blue lace agate is associated with the throat chakra and is therefore helpful with communication. Because of its calming energy, it is a good crystal to carry if you need to make yourself heard, but remain calm in your delivery. It can help with confidence when speaking and is especially helpful for those who have a speech impediment. It also helps to communicate one’s own truth and to speak about emotions without getting upset.

Blue lace agate is thought to help sooth a sore throat, aching or swollen glands in the neck and thyroid problems.

Blue lace agate can help with ‘hot’ conditions such as inflammation, fever, infections and temper. It is also good for arthritis and bone problems.

Blue Lace Agate counteracts the repression and suppression of feelings caused by past fears, judgments, or rejections. It dissolves old blockage patterns and doubt, and permits new methods of self-expression and growth. Blue Lace Agate is especially beneficial in helping men realize and accept their feelings and sensitivities.

My experience of living with Blue Lace Agate;

I have carried this crystal a lot over the past 3 years. It has always been my ‘go to’ crystal for any situation that is not within my daily routine. It has helped calm my anxiety and helped me in situations where I know I will meet new people.

During this past week the Blue Lace Agate has helped me a lot with communication. I needed to express myself to a group of friends in a calm, confident manner, whilst staying true to myself. I also joined a new group where I met new people and had to speak out loud. Both of these situations went well and I feel that carrying the crystal gave me confidence.
