Sapphire

Sapphire is a variety of corundum (aluminium oxide). It is normally blue, but can also occur naturally in other colours including yellow, purple, orange, black and green. The only colour that Sapphire cannot be is red, as this is a Ruby. The Sapphire is coloured by trace elements such as iron, titanium, chromium, copper or magnesium. It is one of the four most ‘precious’ gemstones along with Diamond, Emerald & Ruby.

The blue sapphire is associated with the throat and third eye chakras. It is the stone of wisdom and also spiritual truth. It brings mental clarity and healing to the mind, allowing one to access deeper levels of consciousness to more fully understand the self. It enhances psychic ability and helps with manifesting ideas into form. Sapphire can help during times of change to stay on your spiritual path.

Sapphire is said to help transmute negative and unwanted thoughts and energy, allowing the release of mental tension and bringing lightness and joy. It is said to be very effective in the resolution of legal matters and would be beneficial when signing contracts or negotiating financial arrangements.

Sapphire activates the pituitary gland and entire endocrine system. It is considered a good purifier, can help with eye infections, throat disorders & high blood pressure. It can also help with issues of the ears, including hearing, infection and inner ear imbalances. Sapphire is said to be beneficial in relieving headaches, fevers and helpful to the nervous system.
