Kyanite is an aluminosilicate mineral which is often columnar or bladed and is splintery. It is typically blue but does come in black, green, orange, white & black. The colour that I am writing about is blue.
Kyanite is not associated with one particular chakra, as working with this crystal helps in the alignment of all chakras. It has a high vibration and creates very rapid transfers of energy.
Kyanite opens the psychic channels enhancing spiritual connection. It is excellent for meditation and can enhance one’s connection to information from higher sources. Sleeping with kyanite can stimulate lucid dreaming.
Kyanite is good for communication and expressing your personal truth. It is also said that kyanite can help with telepathic communication between two people, especially if both are using kyanite.

Kyanite is valuable in the industrial world for heat resistance, used in high refractory porcelain, refractory bricks, mortars, kiln furniture and foundry molds, in the auto and railroad industries for brake shoes, grinding wheels and cutting disks, and in the standard porcelain of dentures, sinks and bathroom fixtures. Kyanite crystals that are highly transparent and attractive in color can be cut into cabochon and faceted gemstones, and are considered to be "exotic" gems.
My experience of Kyanite;
I am affected by the high energy of Kyanite and need to carry a grounding/stabilising crystal to be able to continue functioning coherently. I met with a friend and we agreed that my communication was a lot more animated than normal. I couldn’t seem to stop talking.
When I look back on my notes from last time I connected with Kyanite, I can see similarities in how I reacted. Then, I was less stable in my energy and it made me experience motion sickness, so I had to put it down. Talking a lot seems to be a repeating theme too.
